Welcome to Sandy Lane Primary School

At our school, we aim to provide all our children with challenging learning opportunities throughout their foundation and primary years.  All our staff work hard to achieve the highest possible standards within a supportive school setting.  We value the strong and close relationship that we have with parents and work in partnership to enhance each child's learning.  We recognise that all children will begin their early school journey from different starting points, but the goal remains the same; to develop each child's potential and celebrate success.

It is our firm belief that children learn best with the support and interest of all the adults within the school.  For this reason, we aim to place trained teaching assistants in every class.    A beautiful wall hanging presented to Sandy Lane Primary School, created by the children.

  All children have different talents, interests and abilities.  At Sandy Lane we recognise these differences by providing a wide range of opportunities both within the classroom and through extra curricular activities and clubs.  These include residential journeys to Lakeside in Cumbria and representing the school in competitive sporting fixtures, dance, choir and musical activities such as our newly formed string band with over twenty stringed instruments.

Our aim is that Sandy Lane Primary is a thriving educational community where children will enjoy learning, act responsibly towards one another, be challenged by their teachers and enjoy success.
